Brief history of the program:

Starting in October 2023, our Psychology-Cognitive Science program marks the dawn of a new era in interdisciplinary education.

Our program was designed to bridge the gap between psychology and cognitive science and is renowned for its innovative and collaborative approach to learning. Our goal is to cultivate a community of inquisitive and pioneering students who are passionate about delving into the depths of the human mind. Despite being a relatively new program, we have already earned recognition for our progressive curriculum and our commitment to fostering the next generation of cognitive scientists. As we advance and expand, we remain steadfast in our dedication to pushing the frontiers of knowledge in this captivating field.

Program goals and objectives:

Our primary goal is to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and theories underlying psychology and cognitive science, providing them with a solid foundation for further academic pursuits or professional endeavors.

We aim to cultivate critical thinking skills in our students, empowering them to analyze complex cognitive phenomena, evaluate empirical evidence, and construct well-reasoned arguments.

Our program seeks to foster interdisciplinary collaboration by encouraging students to explore connections between psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, linguistics, and computer science, thereby broadening their perspectives and enriching their academic experience.

We strive to develop students’ research competence by providing hands-on research opportunities and training them in research methodologies, data analysis techniques, and scholarly communication skills.

We are committed to instilling ethical principles and practices in our students, emphasizing the importance of responsible conduct in research, professional interactions, and open science principles.

We aim to support the personal and professional growth of our students by offering mentorship, advising, and resources to help them explore their interests, develop their strengths, and pursue their career goals in psychology and cognitive science.
